Sino-Central and Eastern Europe Exchange Scholarship
In order to promote the Chinese Government Scholarship program and attract excellent students from Central and Eastern Europe to pursue education in China, the China Scholarship Council launched the Sino-Central and Eastern Europe Exchange Scholarship.
The scholarship is open to 16 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, including: Albania, Estonia, Bulgaria, BA Bosnia Hercegovina, Poland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary.
This initiative was strongly supported by the Chinese government and each year, Chinese government allots a large sum of fund as scholarship to support the universities to accept students from this region. Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), under this initiative, joins the program.
The students who have officially registered at the universities or colleges in Central and Eastern Europe may apply for the scholarship to support his/her study at universities in China.
The scholarship covers:
1. tuition fees, textbook fees, registration fees; dormitory fees (electricity and water are not included);
2. monthly allowances.
Students do not have to pursue their degrees at NPU. The scholarship is open to exchange students, short-term visiting students, language students, and coming to China for trainings and etc. (staying for at least 3 months)
Before the students apply, to safeguard the students and to ensure the effectiveness of student’s studying result, the host university or college in Central and Eastern Europe should make an agreement on this issue with NPU, mentioning that the universities must recognize the credits students gain in China.
Students who have interest in studying at NPU may submit their applications to the International Office of their own universities or colleges. NPU will accept the students recommended by the International Office of students’ own universities. The application starts from 1st May to 20th June, 2014.
